The story of Greensboro's longest standing bakery began in the early 1980's as a group of local artisanal bakers who sought to open a natural foods bakery near UNCG. They named the bakery "Our Daily Bread". After several years, "Our Daily Bread" was renamed Spring Garden Bakery after one of Greensboro's most famous and historic streets. Spring Garden Street is the road that leads students, professors, neighbors, and Greensboro citizens past the little bakery. In the years following, Spring Garden Bakery began serving cakes, pies, assorted morning pastries, cookies, brownies, bars and most importantly - MUFFINS. Spring Garden Bakery Muffins could be described as world famous and are believed to be "the home of the original pumpkin chocolate chip muffin", a coffee shop favorite no matter where you go. And yes, Greensboro, Spring Garden Bakery continues to pride itself on "stuffin the muffin".

Although Spring Garden Bakery has changed ownership over the years, one thing remains constant: the tasty product, a warm greeting when you walk in the door, and the loyalty of tens of thousands of customers for over 40 years.
